    Precise: Installing Lightning for Thunderbird

    OS: Precise

I'm trying to install Lightning under Thunderbird. The default is to drop all the raw Lightning files onto my desktop. I deleted those and re-downloaded them into a dedicated directory in my home directory as part of the Archive Manager routine.

Thunderbird was re-started, then I went to Add-Ons. Lightning does not appear anywhere as one of the possibilities.

How do I get Thunderbird to look at the correct folder to install Lightning?

Download the lightning.....xpi file from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thu...hp-dl-featured then go to Tools >Add-ons menu in TB and you can install the xpi that way
    DISTRO: Xubuntu 14.04-64bit --- Code-tags --- Boot-Repair --- Grub2 wiki & Grub2 Basics --- RootSudo

I did. Tools/Add-Ons does not show Lightning as being available for installation.

Make sure you have updated, I couldn't install Lightning at first on 12.04, but after the Thunderbird update it works.

I installed Thunderbird 11.0.1 and downloaded Lightning 1.4 today on Precise (12.04).

What should I have and where do I get it from?

When I installed Thunderbird Lightning 1.4 showed in the Add-Ons. I clicked it and that was that. It auto installed and as suggested restarted Thunderbird.

Then in the main menu under Eventes and Tasks I had everything I ever dreamed of.

    Good Luck!

So where do I get the 12.0.1 update?
