Xubuntu 12.04: wine internal errors - invalid parameters received

i am trying to install oracle 8i client in wine and i facing the same issue "internal errors - invalid parameters received". please need help... tried installing older version of wine with clean .wine folder... still facing the prob.. m using 12.04 LTS...

Why are you installing oracle in wine??? Why not use the native linux client? (See: http://www.oracle.com/us/technologies/linux/index.html)
