    Audio group in Kubuntu

    Hello,

I am in desperate need to add my user as an audio group member. So far I have used the GUI tool in KDE. It did good work but only I thought so. As long as I start jack with realtime (I don't really use it but it is a good way of telling if anything's wrong with privileges) I realise that it did nothing. Yes I did log-off and back on I even rebooted (several times) but nothing really worked. So I checked /etc/group for verification if I am really member of audio group and guess what I AM.
By the way this same problem occurs on Fedora with KDE but not on Ubuntu and Fedora with Gnome.
I have no idea why would KDE not let me just be an audio user. Would it hurt it so much? Very soon I am really going to add myself to each and every system group so that I assure that I could what I want to do.
Any less radical solution is better though. So please help.

EDIT: Radical solutions are no solutions at all. It didn't help. My bad...
