Can you run off the LiveCD - not the installed Ubuntu? Does networking work properly?
The lo device is a loopback - not using any NIC. Usually the NIC device is "eth0."
What do the log files show about your networking?
What does the boot log show about your networking?
Are any network devices seen by the OS? Run sudo lshw -C network to see. Please post that output.
What does the full ifconfig output show?

I solved this by install e1000e driver on the platform.
Ok, so it appears that your ethernet controller isn't recognized. No driver is loaded for it. Unfortunately, the lshw command would be the way that I would ask to determine which chip the NIC used. It isn't saying anything, so you need to figure that out manually some other way - perhaps getting a parts list from Dell?
Then you need to manually load the kernel driver. That usually means adding the driver to the /etc/modprobe.d/ or /etc/modules files.
Until the correct NIC driver is loaded into the kernel, you are stuck.

Are you aware that 10.04 is out of support?

Don't use this space for a list of your hardware. It only creates false hits in the search engines.
Isn't only 10.04 Desktop out of support? Pretty much anyone running 10.04 desktop should migrate to 12.04 LTS desktop - which gets 5 yrs of support (2017).
10.04 Server has 2 more years of support - heck, I'm running more than a few 10.04 servers now, so I hope it is still getting patched until 2015-ish.

Correct, but as Firefox was mentioned above this must be a desktop installation.
