What's the Secret to Bluetooth Enabling Apple Magic Mouse in 12.04?

What's the secret to enabling an Apple Magic Mouse in 12.04?

The bluetooth applet finds the mouse. Then, a gray popup appears in the top right corner of the screen asking for a PIN. The popup won't accept any keystrokes and doesn't register clicks from my working USB mouse. Worse, it vanishes in a second or two. Entering a PIN blindly doesn't seem to do anything.

The popup continues to appear even after I close the applet.

I've played with the PIN options offered by the applet. The only one that makes a difference is "Do not pair". With that, the mouse is successfully added, but, not surprisingly, it doesn't work.

I have the same problem. My mouse worked in 11.10 and even when I upgraded to 12.04 it still worked, BUT I used it once in Mac OS and now it just won't work in 12.04 anymore.

    Any suggestions?

I installed "blueman" and it paired my magic mouse effortlessly!
