This works like a charm for me with encryption, with fast speeds, lot better than other options. It has been stable for me now for some time on my laptop.
Hi, trying to get this Broadcom card to work, on a acer aspire 5020 with latest feisty and no joy. It keeps hanging when it says intalling ndiswrapper 1.9. Tried fwcutter method too and no option appeared in network manager even after reboot.
Any help would be so appreciated!!!
Thanks to compwiz18 for getting my laptop wireless. This bcm4318 can be fussy sometimes ,and I'm glad I found this thread to get wireless. Compwiz18; if I could cut&paste my little blue wireless button (above keyboard) on to the screen to show you how glad I am to be free of wires, I would!!! =D> .

feasible, I've been trying to get Wlan working on my Acer Aspire 5024 Wlmi for several months now. I have tried ndiswrapper-method and fw-cutter. Now I'm trying to get it working by re-installing Feisty and using these methods in this thread. If you get yours working, please let me know how you did it
Have you got either acer_acpi or acer_hk installed?

This package is a breeze. Worked on first go! .... I'm connected at 54Mbps!!
My configuration is a AMD64 Athlon XP (machine: Compaq Presario R4000) with Feisty Fawn. The WLAN chipset is a BCM4318.
I just followed the HOW-TO word-for-word and got this darn thing running.
Thanks a lot!

Hello.
I have an acer aspire 3610. Do I need to do the steps #1 to #7 and then in addition do all steps in #8?
btw right now I am using bcm43xx_fwcutter to access the wireless. Will these steps just smoothly overwrite the fwcutter I installed?

I got it to work and everything. I was trying to see if this can fix my major problem.
