I'm back after the reload. The script work and I was able to scan using "iwlist scan" in the terminal. I placed the file in the /lib/firmware dir. I rebooted and now i can't scan for networks anymore. I have not tried chmod at all. What is that function. I will research it and try it. Please post any ideas you may have.
Ok. I preformed chmod 755 for all the firmware files. But I'm still unable to scan or connect now. I will run the script again and see what happens. I'm back to square one again. Btw, does any one know what is the difference between Freespire's bcm43xx driver and Ubuntu's. Freespire works with this card right out the box. But I just don't like the feel of the OS. Anyway...what do you say? 8)
ok i tried it and it said i have the wrong kernel so i tried to download from your site but your site is down
any other places it could be found? i have a amd turion64
Thank you so much! This worked for me, i had tried so many different tuts and this is the only one that worked.
Things i did to get mine working
When i tried to set the dns for my connection the graphical interface kept freezing,
so i had to do it manually by editing the nameserver entry.
I am using Ubuntu 6.06 LTS - the Dapper Drake - released in June 2006.
On an AMD Turion 64
You will have to compile the kernel yourself: my server is down for the next month or so.
use this link for help: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=217657
Just a quick note. I'm running an AMD turion ml-32 so I did install the 2.6.19. The current level of ndiswrapper sources (1.18 ) would not compile. However, by installing the current stable release from sourceforge (1.31) ndiswapper installed. As soon as I did a modprobe on ndiswrapper, the card came up, found its address and worked nicely. So I might recommend that for the 2.6.19 kernel on the AMD64 machines you also recommend a newer version of ndiswrapper. However, thanks very much for posting the HOWTO.

Yes, you will also have to compile ndiswrapper from scratch, as the one in the Repos doesn't work with 2.6.19.
My broadcom was working in Dapper but broke when I updated to Edgy.
This How To saved me a tonne of time retracing the steps I used to get it working back then.
Should be included in Ubuntu by default.
I'm a french ubuntero and it doesn't work on my laptop. it is an HP dv6120eu.
(excuse me if i don't speak a very good english and try to speak to me with easy words, thanks)
When I launched lspci | grep Broadcom\ Corporation, the message was :
