Re: HOWTO: Broadcom 4318 Wireless Cards

Hey compwiz... HELP! I'm so close.... I had wireless connection, but i rebooted and do not, I installed network manager and got no wireless on it so I commented out the /etc/network/interfaces except the first to (lo) lines, now after a reboot, network manager can see the networks but cannot connect to them... what should I try next.

I got the driver and fw cutter from another post, i will find them and link them here. To clarify, I did not use them on this install, I did it last time, but it seemed to get the card to wake up. the button works, the light lights up, but it just cannot connect...

here is the thread that had the fw cutter stuff and the apsta.o driver, which did give me wifi, once, but became very unstable. It did however wake my card up. now on a fresh install with compwiz's excellent x64 howto I am very close,

and i read somewhere that the bcm43xx driver and the touchpad driver don't like each other anyhow, that they have some sort of conflict that obviously the wifi radar exascerbated

I got it working, and after several reboots it seems to be stable.... network manager can't seem to find an ip adress for me, but wifi radar works awesomely

This worked first time for me after trying many other forums, Fantastic. For the record I am using a BTHomeHub and a BT Voyager 1065 wirless adapter on Ubuntu 6.06 on a IBM Thinkpad T20 laptop
    Thanks
