cfdisk error

hi guys
i want to run cfdisk from ubuntu 10.10 live cd to create ntfs partitions for my pc so i could install win 7 because i need it for work. For some reason i get this error:

Ps: i wanted to use Disk Utility also to make a ntfs partition, but it asks me to be root in order to run the program and i don't know how to run disk utility as root.

so please help me with a tip on how to format my partitions to ntfs so i could install windows 7.
