Ubuntu One Stopped Working

I've been using Ubuntu One for a while without problems. A few weeks ago I noticed that it seemed to have stopped working, in that my computer was not connecting to the service. I could no longer copy or synchronise files from my Ubuntu One folder.

Unable to solve the problem I decided to leave it until the release of 12.04 in the hope that it would fix it.

If I launch ubuntuone-installer it gets as far as "Getting information please wait" but does not continue i.e. that box remains on the screen indefinitely.

I have been able to access U1 via my laptop which also runs Ubuntu 11.10
