    12.04 Beta

    Hi, if i download ubuntu 12.04 beta2 will i be able to upgrade to 12.04 LTS (without format) when it is available?

    Just keep it up-to-date in Update Manager, and then on release day (or the day before) you'll find that you have the final release version.
    I try to treat the cause, not the symptom. I avoid the terminal in instructions, unless it's easier or necessary. My instructions will work within the Ubuntu system, instead of breaking or subverting it. Those are the three guarantees to the helpee.

    Yes, the normal upgrades you get through Update Manager will take you to the final release. The various alpha and beta releases are just a snapshot of the repositories at a particular moment in time.

    And do i have to run both desktop_cd and server_install_cd to install properly?

    No.If you want a desktop,use the desktop CD.

    The server install uses command line interface only.
