    Seems like you need to have the package dbus-1 in order to resolve dependency .
    Have you tried searching dbus package in repos ?

    then go ahead and install it . Wish you luck , but i guess you will find lots of dependencies to resolve .

    libdbus-1-dev should be the one you want.
    $ sudo apt-get build-dep vlc
    would probably get all your dependencies as well
