Unable to change/edit details or do anything in profile page

Hi all,
am unable to make any changes via Edit Details or do anything else . I get this if I go to Edit Profile.

ShirishAg75, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
  
Your user account has less than 50 posts.
Your  user account may not have sufficient privileges to  access this page.  Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access  administrative  features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Any ideas whom to approach ?

But how could this be true. My beans say I'm sitting pretty at 838 posts (even though I have logged in after quite some time). I wanted to change the distro version info. and some other things but can't do anything. Anybody ?

This might have happened if the last time you logged in was before the changes described here were implemented. The script which updates user permissions runs once an hour, so you should be set to edit your details soon. Feel free to post back here to let us know how you get on.

It would appear that the script has run - your profile looks like it has been upgraded.

I'm having this problem too. I upgraded to 12.04 and thought I'd change my profile to reflect that. I don't post much (this makes 45), but mainly read them.

I guess I'll post a few more times in the next few days so I can edit my profile.

I am having the same problem, i.e., cannot edit my profile. I don't make a lot of posts, mainly because I try find answers by reading the forums. I'll watch for the one-hour update and see if I can return and edit successfully, but is there anything else I can do I cannot access my profile after an hour? Thanks!

Hello, you will require 50 posts to be able to edit your details. The rationale was outlined here as a preventative measure against spam.
