    "lock desktop" issue

I'm using natty and when I go to lock the desktop(using the lock session icon on the taskbar)I can't get back to my desktop, i am literally locked out. All that shows is a black screen. I can tell its on, but ctrl alt del, rt mouse clicks, and every button on the keyboard pressed and nothing happens. I have to hit the reset button to reboot. thanks in advance.

Things like that are usually video driver issues or have been resolved long ago.

    Is the system fully updated?
