    Installing 12.04 from live CD

I was trying to install 12.04 64bit on my MacBook Pro 5,3 from a live CD. Upon restarting while pressing 'C', it would show the deep purple screen with the two symbols at the bottom, then eventually go to a black screen with a flashing underscore in the top left corner. This is where it got stuck. I know that this is in beta, but any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

When you see the initial boot screen, the one with the little man and keybaord at the bottom, press any key to see the menu. Press F6 and select nomodeset using the arrow keys, then press esc, and then enter.
