12.04 LTS: security implications of non-Unity DE

Hello All

LTS Desktop has security updates for 5 years along with Server in the Precise cycle.

Does anyone have solid information on the security implications of a user using 12.04 Ubuntu but with the Xubuntu or Lubuntu flavour desktop environment or with Gnome Shell as the DE?
