Ubuntu stuck when loading from USB drive

I wanted to have a usb stick with Ubuntu on it so I could fix people's computer problems, but every time I try to boot from my USB stick, I let it load into the main Ubuntu boot screen (with run, install, advanced options, etc) I try to run it, it goes into terminal, spits out a couple hundred lines and always gets stuck at the same line.

Did you check the md5sum of the downloaded iso image?

I would also try using a different usb drive. I was using a traveler's flash drive and ubuntu wasn't loading properly and giving crash errors. When I used a regular flash drive it worked just fine
