    Chromium using too much memory?

Hi, I've been using Ubuntu for ages, but I'm useless when it comes to anything "under the bonnet" so to speak, so I'm posting here to appeal to the patience of people who check these threads

11.10 has actually been a huge win for me on my Toshiba because I can now use it when it's not plugged it (it used to crash on all the other versions). However, recently, my computer slows to the point of uselessness after a couple hours of uptime.

I checked system monitor, and this is the memory usage of Chromium, just opened, after I'd killed all the previous processes, only one tab open.

    Is this my problem?

might be worth also looking here

    http://support.google.com/chrome/bin...B&answer=95672

to see internally what the program considers it is using.

Wow, thanks! That does look like it may be my prime suspect!
