Re: HEADS-UP: DansGuardian does NOT block Playboy!
@ the OP, I would love to hear the back story of how you found this out.
@ Anastasis, Wow! I don't know where to start. First of all, Gnome is definitely not dead. Your personal preference is that you do not like it, but that's not everyone's preference. I happen to love Gnome Shell, and think it's the best thing to happen to the DE world in a long time.
Secondly, you can't really be hard on the community for not forking DansGuardian and not do anything about it yourself. Even if you don't know how to code, you could be more productive in trying to organize people who do, instead of bashing us for not doing it.
Also, you talk about how Windows and Mac have great closed source options, but Linux doesn't have any open source options at all. Do you think it's wrong to use the closed source options we have in Linux? Not everything in Linux has to be open source. I, personally, haven't tried to find any system wide solutions, but there are plenty of anti-porn add-ons for Firefox that work well in Linux. Searching the add-ons for "porn filter" turns up a lot of results. I've used ProCon Latte, and it worked pretty well. A couple of others are Anti-Porn Pro and Christian Anti-Porn. So you can't really say there isn't anything out there at all.
