remove left pane from pcmanfm in lubuntu

    Hello,

Does anyone know if it's possible to remove/hide the left side 'bookmarks' pane/panel from the pcmanfm file manager in the lubuntu desktop environment? I've read that it can be toggled on/off by going to the 'view' menu, however I see no option when I click on 'view', only 'show hidden', 'icon/thumbnail/compact/detailed list view' and 'sort files.
The version of of pcmanfm is 0.9.7
I'm using this on a netbook, so screen space is quite limited. I have no use for this feature and it would be nice to regain some of my screen.

    Thank you

    Hello,
Simply drag the edge of the pane to the left of the window.

Well, that's simple. Does anyone know a way to make this change global and permanent? Each time I close a window the panel re-appears.

    Thanks

ok I see, the change is constant.
You could try and use spacefm, that's pcmanfm fully customizable with multipanel etc. You can close sidepanel permanently.
There are .deb to download here:
