Just playing with kde, performance is pretty OK with the opensource ATI drivers tbh.

Distro: Ubuntu 11.10 with KDE 4.8.2
Apps: Dolphin, Konqueror, Konsole, Cairo-dock, Covergloobus, Conky
Plasma theme: Fushigi
Style: Qtcurve (oblong colors)
Kwin-theme: Forman
Conky: Gotham
Covergloobus: LGD-N12

I am using the Caledonia Visual Environment by Malcer (check it out on DeviantArt), and KFaenza icons. Wallpaper is Clear Thoughts by Yuumei (also on DA).

Nice Desk. I'm using Caledonia too. The great thing is that it stays black(ish) so the white texts on top all are always readable. That's not the case with the black fonts on the standard Oxygen panel. Text becomes unreadable with darker wallpapers there.

No special tricks Xubuntu 11.10 just installed and setup as usual. I installed compiz from synaptic package manager,checked all extras except the kde stuff.works good no problems
