Right now Portal is still in Beta (no sight of Portal 2 yet). The only thing I found a bit buggy was the performance. Whenever I open a portal and look into it, fps can drop quite a bit. Other than that though, it seems to be working just fine!

That article is dumb, they are using Phoronix as a source who did no fact checking and is still saying Portal and Portal 2 are out for Linux.
Portal is actually out now, Portal 2 is not and there are no indications of Portal 2 coming yet.

Portal 2 has confirmed platinum rating in Wine AppDB. It's still worse than having a native build but should be good enough if you just want to play the game.
