Question Terminal won't show up on side panel UNITY?

    Please see the attached screenshot.
I have opened terminal using CTRL-ALT-T command. However, it won't show up on the Unity side panel. Also, when I press ALT-TAB to navigate windows, terminal doesn't show up in that even though it is running.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

    I have Gnome-Terminal 3.30 installed, and I'm running 12.04.

Re: Terminal won't show up on side panel UNITY?

    I have a 1080 HDMI panasonic 37inch connected to a Zotac IP41.
I had a problem with 11.10 first, the side & top menu bars were half on and half off the screen. I downgraded to 10.04 but still the same problem at the top & bottom. No amount of monitor settings or drivers, or trying the suggestions on various linux websites made any difference. Then, whilst messing with my TV, and having turned overscan off, (which made no difference), I went into the menu and skipped thru the screen display options ie/ normal/sport/cinema/dynamic/games etc and BINGO! after a week of frustration the the side and top bars are BACK using GAME! It's a TV problem. Hope this helps someone else !
