    Ctrl/Alt + Num Browser Shortcuts

    Hi,

I upgraded my pc to Precise yesterday and everything is running quite smoothly (considering it's a beta) there's only one problem:

In Chrome and Firefox Ctrl + Num as well as Alt + Num let you switch the tabs. In Oneiric only Ctrl + Num would work, so that I would have Alt free to switch desktops.
Do we need this redundancy? Or is it a bug?

You should probably clarify that "Strg" is the German keyboard equivalent of "Ctrl", so that more people know what you're talking about.

Oh, I wasn't thinking about that!

You're right, I was talking about Ctrl.
Do you also have this shortcut behaviour?

I wonder if it is something to do with add-ons? On my Firefox, Ctrl-Num does nothing; I can change tabs only with Alt-Num (something new that I learned today!).

Re: Ctrl/Alt + Num Browser Shortcuts

In Chromium both work. Which was something I did not know.

Switching workplaces is done with Ctrl+Alt+arrow key. A few weeks ago it was changed to something else but then switched back after a few moans. So, it maybe it is in someone's mind to change it yet again.

Re: Ctrl/Alt + Num Browser Shortcuts

You're right, when I just tried it in Firefox only Alt worked as well.
But in Chrome + Chromium both keys work which is really unnecessary from my point of view.

I just looked at my Oneiric installation, in there the otherwise assigned shortcuts (Alt + 1-4) don't affect Firefox, Alt+5 does.
So probably it's really a bug?

Yeah, but I also asigned Alt+1-4 to switch to desktops 1-4 because it's faster in my opinion, but right now I can't use it because it messes around with my tabs.

    Firefox: Alt-Num works

Paddy, do you know Shift-Ctrl-E within Firefox when you have a number of tabs open? Esc to get back to normal.

Thanks, I think that's the problem.
