    Try it with cabextract:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install cabextract unshield

Do you have or does a friend have a Windows computer you can install the exe on? You can then grab the XP files and after we're sure it's working on Ubuntu, remove it. Be sure to get both 32- and 64-bit versions along with the .inf, .sys and .cat files. Better to have everything.

    I'm afraid that's all I can suggest.

Ok, I managed to get a WindowsXP 32bit virtual machine, I found .sys and .bin file in C:\WINDOWS\System32\Drivers but I can't file .inf file needed by ndiswrapper.
There's no C:\WINDOWS\Inf folder and search utility of windows XP finds only "rt2870.sys" and "rt2870.bin" starting from C:\

    Any idea?

Ok, some progress have been made

I found an archive with a compatible driver for any windows version at this address: http://202.221.139.247/pub/asustw/wi...B_N66_1007.zip

I attached the driver for windows xp I'm using right now.

I'll write back after some test.

I look forward to your report. Remember, dmesg will show all kinds of useful information:
    Code:
    dmesg | grep ndis

I needed 64bit driver so I attached in previous message that too.

    Here dmesg:
    Code:

    [ 375.980564] ndiswrapper version 1.58 loaded (smp=yes, preempt=no)

    [ 376.163351] ndiswrapper (import:232): unknown symbol: ntoskrnl.exe:'__chkstk'
    [ 376.163475] ndiswrapper (load_sys_files:199): couldn't prepare driver 'rt2870'
    [ 376.163650] ndiswrapper (load_wrap_driver:121): couldn't load driver 'rt2870'
[ 376.163709] usbcore: registered new interface driver ndiswrapper
