    Streaming around the house.

I run TVersity on a windows 7 desktop allowing me to stream vids / photo's etc around my house to other windows machines, hardwired and wireless ( desktops and laptops).

If i enter the ip address of Tversity into a Ipad then i can access the same information and play codec permitting most movies.

Now when i enter the same ip address into Google chrome on my laptop running
Ubuntu 11.10, Google runs and runs and finally states it cannot connect .
Is this because Tversity isn't linux compatible
I cannot run Linux off my desktop due to the family love of windows
    Any ideas anyone.
