External GTK themes have white fonts

I'm currently using Precise Pangolin, and the default Ambiance theme has perfectly normal-looking fonts. However, when I try to use an external theme (change using Ubuntu-Tweak, blabla...) the fonts in dialogs, windows,... turns white and look completely unusable on a white background. I tried to use the theme on a fresh guest account, problem persists. Can anyone help me on this?

I'm not sure there is any help on this yet. I've had the same problem and attempted to report it as a bug (not so easy, it seems; the themes aren't apps, there are no crashes, and apport won't allow it). I did see a comment elsewhere that this is a problem in those themes, that they require updating.

I hope this isn't a bug that'll be missed just because it can't be reported in any "official" way.

Yes, third-party themes need to be updated to work well with GTK 3.4. You can contact the theme developers to let them know about the problem.
