    You could, but the automatix2 version is totally outdated!

    I didn't manage to set up my ports properly with it, because some options in that dialog were missing. Now that I compiled the newest version from the source, it works like a charm.

    Unless the automatix version doesn't get regularly updated in the future, I cannot recommend it!

    It's debug output. It means you can ignore it or create that directory so it doesn't complain.

    Code:
    2006-12-04 - Steven Sheehy
    * Upgraded the DC++ core to 0.698:
    	* The 0.691 core contains a security flaw so I recommend you upgrade ASAP.
    	* Support for non-TTH files was removed (by DC++, so don't complain to us).
    	* Added SSL support (thanks Mattias Webjörn Eriksson for some help with this).
    		* OpenSSL is now a required dependency to build.
    		* Added a "Security Certificates" page in the preferences dialog.
    		* Added a TLS port entry in the "Connection" page.
    	* Added "Ignore private messages from bots" option.
    	* Added "Ignore private messages from the hub" option.
    	* Added "Don't download files already in the queue" option.
    	* Removed "Ignore private messages from offline users" option.
    	* Removed "Only results with TTH root" option.
    	* Lots of other bug fixes to get the core to compile on *nix.
    LinuxDC++ now requires OpenSSL in order to compile:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install libssl-dev
    You may have to run scons --clean and/or delete the "build/" directory in order to get this update to compile.

    Re: HOWTO: Install LinuxDC++

    Can someone provide me the sources for version 0.689. I have installed the latest linuxdcpp and only after I have checked my network to see what clients they use, and most of them don't have TTH. Now I can't download form them so untill they upgrade I have to use old dc++ too.
    If you have the sources for that version please send me a private message and I'll give you my e-mail address.
    Thank you

    So Steven, is there a page on the LDCPP site that gives an indication of how much needs to be done until an official release? I'm enjoying this program immensely (for the most part, it's superior to Valknut), but I'd love to have a release so I don't have keep hitting up CVS every week or so.
    What's wrong with closed and open source co-exisiting?

    * Fix download queue
    * Add translations
    * Fix character encodings
    * Other small fixes

    Re: HOWTO: Install LinuxDC++

    I have a problem that started a few days ago after updating to the latest cvs build. When I try to download files, they start to download, but I get disconnected after a few seconds (disconnected from the user, not from the hub).

    Does anyone recognize this problem?
    Any known fixes?
    Is there any way to downgrade to an earlier version to see if that would help?

    Edit: I found the solution myself... Managed to downgrade by "cvs update -D 20061101". Then I got error messages instead of "disconnected", turned out my disk was full. Deleted some files and got it working. I'm stupid.

    I'm waiting for multisource-downloading-support. Without it, downloading just goes too slow. There are enough ports in Windows that support this...
