    that is based off Windows DC++ 0.261 or 0.674.

    I don't use DC++ over the internet only
    for LAN offline use .

    Most of the Windows users , are using DC++
    0.261 (non hashing) or DC++ or BCDC++ 0.674

    Also half the time I AM hosting a DC++ HUB on an LAN
    network at home or lan partys so I do not
    have the issues of internet hubs as I NEVER
    use DC++ over the internet

    i did read your post, my keypoints are:
    - i don't believe there is a version of linuxDC++based on 0.261
    - i heard dozens upon dozens people complain about hashing when i told them to update their client, hashing is NOT bad, even on a LAN based hub.
    - your best bet would be to find an old version of valknut or you're stuck using dc++ 0.621 through wine, although i doubt that will work.
    - most newer clients are incompatible with clients that old, that's not on purpose but sometimes cannot be avoided. all the people in that lan-hub should use old clients then. (maybe that's the case, i wouldn't know.)

    p.s.
    I'm not offending you here, i give you my viewpoint as a longtime hubrunner, huboperator and DC++ user. (occasional client-hacker as well)

    The last official release was in 2007 and it's May 2008 now.

    I was just wondering.

    If you look here you can see that the last update in cvs was only five days ago (by Stevensheehy), so it's still being worked on.
    If you only count the "official" releases (1.0.0 and 1.0.1) there's only been two releases, both released in 2007, but linuxdcpp has been available from cvs longer than that (I've used it since I found this thread in june 2006, with only occasional breakages and minor isses).
    I'm sure the next official release will come "when it's ready", i.e when the developer thinks it's necessary.

    If you try to download from GetDeb you cannot find a supported Hardy release.

    "Selected Ubuntu version no longer supported by Getdeb, this package will not be updated!"

    Wonder why...

    I guess because GetDeb is for applications not available in the Ubuntu repositories. Since Linuxdcpp is now available in Ubuntu they must be discontinuing their support. I'll remove the link from the first page.
