    Re: HOWTO: Install LinuxDC++

    Hello, I wanted to ask if there is a chance to see a core/gui split soon? Any plans for a console linuxdcplusplus? That would be really awesome. I could have it on 24/7 on my screenless dapper home-server...

    Here here, I second this motion!

    Seriously though, I am a bit surprised that there is Linux software which ISN'T split into a core & gui.. The only thing I ever restart on my server is the Gnome, and it's a shame it disconnects DC++ then..

    Yes, I would eventually like to turn linuxdcpp into a daemon/frontend setup, but it's going to take some time. Right now I still have to add magnet support, finish user commands and finally add l18n, on top of many other small changes here and there.

    There's already a console-based dc++ app called nanodc (not up to date, though). If we did develop a daemon mode, then nanodc's author said he might port his text-based gui to it. Plus I know guys who can write a cocoa and a qt interface.

    Wow, that would be awesome. I have always been wondering if the museek-code could be used as a base for the core/gui split...

    I know it's for slsk and not dc, but who knows...just a thought.

    i love the development of this app, just wondering though, i can never find anything that i want (rare stuff) any tips? apart from the really obvious (im a above average linux user)

    main question is are the default advanced options ok? whats the point in all the auto drop stuff should i touch it? (hate too many options)

    Beg someone to create one, and send it in chat, someone who has StrongDC++ or any other client that fully supports magnet links. Then click on it and you'll see the search window autosearching for right TTH.

    I wish http://, ftp://, dchub:// and www. links worked same way, opened the link in default system browser.
