    does not work it gives me connection timeout

    you have a problem with your port forwarding apparently.

    Have a look at any tutorial for any direct connect client out there. You'll find the problem.

    hi, I meet this problem when compile, how can it happen, I'am new to ubuntu

    Not sure why that happened to you, but I've modified the SConstruct code to be a bit more robust in its error checking. This should hopefully fix your problem once it's committed to cvs. Until then, you can always delete the offending lines from SConstruct.

    You could also use Automatix2 and have it installed in 20 seconds.
