OpenGL trouble - could not load OpenGL subsystem

    Hi everyone,
recently I've been unable to run any games that require OpenGL. For instance I used to be able to play OpenArena but now it crashes with the following error message
    Code:
GLimp_Init() - could not load OpenGL subsystem.
     See /home/thebigh/.openarena/baseoa/crashlog.txt for details.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled my Nvidia drivers, but this has not fixed the problem.

Another thread I found on this forum suggested I try "sudo apt-get install mesa-utils", but that did not work for me either.

Here is a complete description of my system, the contents of the crashlog.txt from OpenArena, and the results of "glxinfo | grep OpenGL" which was suggested by someone in another thread. I hope someone will be able to figure out what the trouble is and how to fix it. Thanks.

You have an intel GPU. Why do you have the nvidia driver installed?

I have no idea. AFAIK it's been there since the beginning, because I don't remember installing it in the first place.

So should I get rid of it and get the right driver? How do I do that?

Just earlier in the thread, you said..
I've uninstalled and reinstalled my Nvidia drivers
Anyway...Getting rid of nvidia driver depends on how you installed it. Generally, this works:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get purge nvidia*
    sudo apt-get install --reinstall libgl1-mesa-glx libgl1-mesa-dri xserver-xorg-core

Yes indeed. What I mean is, I removed and re-installed something that had already been there for who knows how long.

This seems to have fixed my problem. At least some of my openGL programs are running again. Thank you for your help.
