amd ati 4250

i have an amd ati 4250 graphics card and im using ubuntu 11.10 64 bit edition.
I use gtk-recordmy desktop to record screencast and the ogv file looks great but when i use winff to convert it to avi or whatever the video looks bad.
i even tried lowering the video quality for the videos but nothing works,please help me
