Hi, I just created an account to post this, when I was working on Ubuntu 11.10 and changing things in Ubuntu Tweak, suddenly the Unity sidebar and the dash at top dissapeared. Also, all of my windows were crammed into one workspace, i was unable to close any windows, and couldn't turn the computer off, change workspace, or do anything. However, all of my programs, (Pithos, Firefox, Chromium) continued to work, with the exceptions noted above. After ten minutes of messing with it, I forced shut down by holding the power button for 10 seconds. It shut down, and I started it up normally. However, after the Ubuntu loading screen (the one with the 5 dots that cycle) It went to a black screen and showed the following commands

Could not write bytes: Broken Pipe
Could not write bytes: Broken Pipe
Could not write bytes: Broken Pipe
Could not write bytes: Broken Pipe

*Starting Bluetooth [ok]
(orange asterisk)*PulseAudio configured for per-user settings
*saned disabled:edit /etc/default/saned
*checking battery state [ok]

I pressed Ctrl+Alt+Del and it restarted. The second time, I got

Stopping save kernel messages [ok]
Stopping anac(h)ronistic cron [ok]
Starting the demon winbind [ok]

Mountall: Disconnected from Plymouth...

And then it sits forever. Please help me! I know just about nothing, except how to use cd and move and gedit.
