Hi,
I want to back up my music CDs in a lossless (able to reproduce the original CD from my data), yet easily-accessible (playable) way.
While making an ISO or a BIN/CUE of the CD would be lossless (at least the latter, right?), I would need to mount the ISO as a loopback device to play it, or use one of the few players which can play ISOs.
So I opted for a CUE + whole-disc-FLAC encode of the CD (my encoding command is "abcde -1 -o flac -a default, cue"). There are players which can use the CUE file to play a specific song inside a whole-disc-FLAC.
However, I came across one of a few CDs in my collection which has multimedia content -- "Dimmu Borgir"'s "Enthrone Darkness Triumphant". It is a data track with videoclips, photos, lyrics and so on.
How do I back up this data in a lossless way? Just copy the files from the data track into a directory alongside my ".flac" file? How would I reproduce the original CD?
Are these the only "kind" of not-only-music-tracks CDs?
Thanks,
Willard.
