Use BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 as modem in Ubuntu

    Hello,

I've been trying hard to use my BB Storm 2 9550 as a modem in my lap. In this lap, I am using 11.10, but I have also tried it with Karmic on my other lap, both with no luck.

I have followed this step by step guide: http://www.wiki.venenux.org/Usar_Blackberry_como_modem , but can't get it to work.

If any one could help me, I'd be more than glad. By the way, don't tell me to use the Blackberry desktop manager, as it doesn't work in Linux, ṕlease.

I've also searched for a way of creating a Wifi hotspot, but it seems not possible, too.

    Best Regards,
    Richi

    Hi.
I use my bold 9300 as modem in 11.10 and it works just fine. The best way to do it is connecting via bluetooth and setting up the connection according to your provider. Ubuntu already have several providers preselected for each country.
The other way is using a software called BBTether, but it didn't work the same. Sometimes the connection speed decreases with no apparent reason. Anyway, you can find more information about it at this link: www.berry4all.com.
I've tryed to use it as bluetooth modem in 12.04, but didn't work for me. I've tested yesterday, so maybe there is some fine tunning to get it connected.
    Regards.
