I tryied with others, no one worked.
But I found something "interessting".
I just installed a new Ubuntu10.04serv64 to work on what I have to work, but surprise:
It gives me same errors thant with my newly installed ubuntu11.10.
I remember I had some problems too when installing my first 10.04 and don't remember how I solved this.
But it mean the default installation (with language fr and localisation switzerland + keyboard swiss) doesn't have "apt-get update" working.
If I post my "/etc/network/inferfaces" and my "iptables-rules.conf" can this help on diagnostic?
Ok, problem found and solved.
The problem was:
No "/etc/resolv.conf" file.
I don't realy know what is the IP I have to write in it.
Is it DNS servers?
I think it might be DNS servers, but I am really not sure at all.
Didn't you say you have a working 10.04 server? Or had you installed over it? If it is still there, maybe you can copy the file from there.
Michael
I had one 10.04 working, that I installed in January.
I installed 11.10 last friday, and not working.
I installed new 10.04 today, and not working.
But I copied the resolv.conf file on both of my 2 servers where it wasn't working and Now all is working as well.
So it wasn't troubles from ubuntu archive sites, but from my servers that didn't have "resolv.conf" files.
Sounds like you should keep a copy of that file somewhere.
Glad you got it sorted.
Michael
