Hi,

I'm running the latest ubuntu on a samsung r580. I tend to leave it running various processes (on Maple) for a few hours at a time, and this time when the process finished and I tried to save I got the message 'Read-only file system' cannot save. I couldn't even create a new text file; couldn't mount the USB stick to backup etc.

This happened to me also when I very first installed ubuntu on this laptop, and that time I was forced into reinstalling. This time although I got a few errors on reboot, after going through the recovery suggestions the system *appears* to be back to normal and I've at least been able to back up things.

Does anyone know what might be going on? it makes me worry about the stability of the system, really would be a nightmere if this keeps happening.
