You may be able to solve this annoyance by configuring the "i8kutils" deal
The Nvidia-graphics is integrated into the chipset on the motherboard and no designed for a hybrid-solution,
so your best bet is to disable the integrated Nvidia-graphics in the BIOS and just use the AMD.
If you can't disable it, your bios should allow for a prioritized list (PCI-E->PCI->IGP). Remember to then reduce Video Memory to the lowest you can, so the integrated doesn't eat up memory that it won't need.

Just a tip to all the recent posters: If you can, disable the integrated graphics. Most, but not all, manufacturers provide this in BIOS
and will save you time and trouble.
Like a good friend told me earlier today; "Life is too short to mess with switchable graphics in Linux".

(solution is in comment #4)
Should you end up with the watermark, it is easily removed.

Just did a fresh install of LM 14.1, Sony VAIO VPCCA-17FL, Radeon 6630m... It's been more than a year that I had to switch back to windows because of my computer's crappy hybryd card Back then this thread didn't exist and I've read it almost completely. I'll try several solutions posted in here and report everything ASAP. If you've got any suggestions on which solutions definitely don't work with this model or which ones I should try first, just tell me.
Update, Catalyst 13.1 drivers did not work, on restart X server was not able to start. Going to try other solutions.
