Is there a PPA for the beta drivers or did you install manually?

Excellent! Everything working fine now! I am not experiencing any bug nor faults, neither freezes or hangs with Catalyst 13.2 Beta 3

I recommend to follow the wiki cchtml tutorial for driver installation and tips.

    kudos to AMD!

    Re: AMD/Intel Hybrid Graphics works

I'm experiencing several problems even with the latest 13.2 drivers and my radeon 7970M with Ubuntu 12.10, kernel 3.5.0-23-generic.

Granted, the shutdown bug was fixed, but I still have the following issues:

    1) When using an external monitor and the dedicated card is enabled, X simply crashes

    2) When booting with an external monitor and the integrated card is enabled, X doesn't crash, but it doesn't start either. It keeps on a black screen forever

    3) After X starts without the external display, I can plug it. When I'm using the integrated card, it works fine, but with the external display the image is "scrambled" (see the attachment for a photo of the screen). This problem didn't happened when I was using Ubuntu 12.04 and catalyst 12.10

    4) When the dedicated card is enabled, some applications makes X crash and go back to the login screen when doing some specific operations. For example, I can always reproduce this problem using Ubuntu's default image viewer. I open an image and try to drag it to create a shortcut, for example. This makes X crashes instantly.

Another application that produces the same effect: when I'm developing android applications and I try to edit layouts, dropping buttons, scaling components, etc. I have the XOrg.0.log for this problem, here's the backtrace:

Again, just to be clear: this "drag" problem happens only with the dedicated card enabled. It works fine with the integrated card.

Did anyone noticed the same kind of problems?

    Thanks for reading my rant.

Cool Re: AMD/Intel Hybrid Graphics works

I tried it and had no problems with an external monitor (hdmi)

with amd card on, like you say.

I´m with 6770m, maybe the problem only afects 7000m series (Southern Islands)

    Hi
Can I use the new drivers to switch freely between graphic cards?(I mostly use the integrated.)
cause last time I tried them ,I ended up with a black screen.
I have an HP dv6t which is running opensuse 12.2 with ati 6770m and Intel 3000.

    Re: AMD/Intel Hybrid Graphics works

I haven't tried with hdmi, I used the DVI output, so I can't say whether I'd have the same kind of problem with hdmi.
Also, I'll emphasize that I have this kind of problem with Ubuntu 12.10. I had no issues with 12.04.

Assuming everything is fine, you can easily switch between using the commands provided in the first post. But everytime you change the card, you must logout.
    The switch is working.
