AMD/Intel Hybrid Graphics works

I installed as you did, then installed drivers as it shows on first post, and after restart it shows: Run in low-graphics

Can you please make a full tutorial step by stept, please!

I am running AMD Phenom II X3 CPU with Nvidia 9500GT and no problems. I wonder if you guys that are having problems with AMDATI I don't know why you are having problems with these cards as Apple Corp uses these Graphics in their Apple Macs even their Power Tower system and they don't get any problems so why not get an Apple Powertower .

Seems that problem is about xserver-xorg-intel package.

A workaround was proposed (By Nick Andrick) in this thread at launchpad bug

I've tested and worked for me with an HD 6770M hybrid with Intel HD 3000

Access THIS ppa link , click in xserver-xorg-video-intel - 2:2.20.0-0~andrik1 to expand and download xserver-xorg-video-intel deb file for your architecture (amd64 or x86), you must download the 2 following files:

xserver-xorg-video-intel-dbg_2.20.0-0~andrik1_XXX.deb
and
xserver-xorg-video-intel_2.20.0-0~andrik1_XXX.deb
where XXX must me your architecture identifier (x86 or amd64)

Then open terminal and go to directory where files were downloaded, then type:

sudo dpkg -i xserver-xorg-video-intel*.deb

after package installation, execute following command:

sudo dpkg-reconfigure Xorg

reboot your machine and install amd fglrx driver

TIP: I've installed 12.11 beta and first time I execute 'sudo amdconfig --initial -f' command it returns me that my graphic card is not supported. But I've rebooted, then I logged in Ubuntu (also without Unity bars)

But don't worry, wait about 1 minute until finish loading your OS, then press CTRL + ALT + T (to open terminal) and execute following commands:

sudo amdconfig --initial -f
sudo reboot

Now everything works like a charm after rebooting...

Patch for x86-video-intel(for ubuntu xserver-xorg-video-intel) works. Install patched version of intel drivers, than install fglrx, than add in "/etc/X11/Xsession.d/10fglrx" this path ':/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/dri/'. Works great, until reboot with enabled Intel video card, than system doesn't loading, even can't enter in tty. How can I solv it?

Same for me. OS hangs and doesn't respond even to Cntrl+ alt+ del. Need to long press power button in order to shutdown laptop

I have really bad solution, but I can't make another, except waiting for fixing. It's make dual-boot two ubuntu, first for intel card, second for amd card. Some pieces can be combined, like /home folder, /var/cache/apt/archives folder, /opt, etc. Write couple script for syncing files. Really bad idea, but I don't know what to do, and I really need properly working both cards.

Hi,

I have a Dell Vostro 3550 Intel3000/AMD 6630M.

I use Ubuntu Gnome Shell Remix 64bit with Amd Catalyst 12.11 beta.
My problem is when I exit from any 3D games which runs on full screen (for example: Trine2 of Torchlight) the screen starts flickering and I can stop flickering when I logout and login again.

This problem is the same with older distros too. I used Ubuntu 12.04 with Unity/XFCE/KDE/Gnome-shell but the problem is the same?

Have anyone encountered this problem?
