I'm working as a computer tech and I have the latest version of Ubuntu (11.04) on my flash drive which I boot from to view files, etc. on customers computers. However, it seems that by default, Ubuntu (as well as the Linux environment on Hiren's BCD) have the backlight set to Off by default.

I've googled on how to fix this problem but it involves altering system files (grub text file, etc.), which I'm not sure applies to me since everytime I "try Ubuntu" on a different system, the default is once again restored and I have to alter it all over again.

So my question is is there a way to change possibly the iso file or something so that the default is changed on each new system I boot from?
