    I had also tried the "-i" option but hadn't mentioned it. I got the same result as I did for the other smartctl options. It's good to see your example to know what I should have been getting.

    Much time has passed, but as detailed in this thread on the OCZ forum, the problem ended up being due to a faulty SSD which has now been replaced under warranty. Thanks to everyone for the assistance.
