It seems I can't use a password less than 6 characters and less complex than the standard rules. Even after tweaking the PAM config with "min" option Passwd still complains.

I selected a single-character password at installation. The installer whined, but allowed it.
Increased accessibility!
Indeed. And removing "obscure" from PAM's requirements appears to work. Sadly it also breaks unlocking my screen saver.
Screen readers can make it very difficult to correctly input text.
Voice input is equally unreliable.
The most secure way of logging onto a computer I've seen, is to swipe one's thumb across the fingerprint reader. The fingerprint readers on the laptops I've seen, haven't been nearly as easy and straightforward to use, as they could be, or even should be.
Security measures that are slight annoyances for sighted people, can be such great obstacles, that blind people have to forgo the use of whatever the security "protects".
