Amarok couldn't work with multimedia keys in ubuntu 11.10

Hello all , I have been using amarok on ubuntu since a long time, and amarok could listen to mutimedia keys using the multimedia keys extension, but after upgrading to 11.10 and installing gnome3 , amarok is no more able to listen to multimedia keys. The problem is with gnome3 I think it doesn't recognize amarok as music player so instead of passing the multimedia key to the listener it just shows the stop icon and amarok is unable to read that key.
Is there any way to change this behavior and ask gnome3 to not to block the key even if no player is running.
    Thanks for the help.
