Yeah, 4.8 is slick. I've been running it for a couple weeks now (whenever it was first available in backports anyway), and it's running great without any problems thus far. KDE just keeps getting better and better!
Video was a little monotonous, though

I enjoy the way that Dolphin shuffles files and folders around when changing the size of the icons or the window... other than that I can't see too much that makes me excited about 4.8 above 4.7.x (except for the fact that I heard that KWin was supposedly lighter on resources and snappier in 4.8).

Hiya, I'm running RC2 from the Kubuntu Beta PPA and loving it. Is there a repository with the 4.8 beta packages yet?
theres

and

but are they trusted sites?
I got mind from adding the Kubuntu Backports PPA to my software sources list. Here's the link to that PPA:

I think it's the same instructions in the blog site that Gremlinzzz posted.
4.8 is the first KDE version that gives me consistent Kwin performance throughout a login session... previously animations would gradually get more laggy and I'd kill/restart plasma-desktop to get everything smooth again.
This is with Intel 965 graphics.
Yeah, kde 4.8 rocks. I've been testing it out on a spare machine that runs Chakra.
I'm quite sure that KDE is going to be my main DE in a little while.
