    Call for testing Compiz 0.9.7.0-beta1

Hello everyone. I wanted to inform you of another testing opportunity!

The ubuntu desktop team has packaged up a new version of compiz and is looking for people to help test for breakage before releasing into the archive.

The changes in this new version of compiz are better performance and stability, but this needs testing to verify that is the case.

Please see this post for more details:
    http://www.theorangenotebook.com/201...970-beta1.html

Please help test - and feel free to post any questions about doing so here. The testing goes on through this weekend with a goal of pushing this to precise next week. Thanks!

any further info besides "The changes in this new version of compiz are better performance and stability" that means everything and nothing?

the only thing I've found are the latest commits in the trunk branch but no milestone or other info:
    https://code.launchpad.net/~compiz/compiz/ubuntu

In https://code.launchpad.net/~didrocks...tu-compiz0.9.7 we can the revisions. Not a proper changelog, but gives us an idea of the LP bugs fixed in each revision for this branch.

Just to note - atm this ppa & unity staging are not compatible, so if using the staging one would need to remove/revert before testing compiz

The menu title border on windows (firefox) and the raster tear that used to be there between the main window and the menu border is practically non existent when using (wobbly windows)!

    nice work ..
