HPlip 3.12.2 and 11.10 iso download

The latest HPlip 3.12.2 was introduced yesterday. How soon will it be, before its included in the Ubuntu 11.10 iso download?

I doubt that it will be.

The 11.10 iso is now 4 months old and is not going to be updated, as it is not an LTS version. I am not sure if updates to an installed system will give you any version updates of hplip other than security updates.

HP has an installer with a new version of hplip that you can install. I just did it for my officejet 8600 pro that isn't supported with ubuntu's version of hplip.

You download the .run file and follow the instructions. The install builds a deb package and installs it for you.

Except for LTS releases, none of the ISOs get updated after the official release date (October 2011 for 11.10).

LTS releases occasionally get updated ISOs, for example 10.04.1 10.04.2 etc...

Off topic, but...

How did you set the 8600 to work wireless??, when i try to "add printer" doesn't recognize it, i just can work through usb
