    Lightbulb Skype freeze continued

Does anyone have issues with Skype in Ubuntu 11.10 64-bit with Unity UI?
After a series of freezes I found the following link that you might find useful:

    So far it looks promising.
As expected there's an open thread on the Skype site but there's no statement from Skype...
    Hope this hepls.

    Just a quick update...
Today I've been using Skype for a whole day and there were no freezes what so ever. The application was quite responsive throughout the day. Looks quite promising. I hope that this solves it. I'll update later this week what the situation is.

just a recommendation, google+ has a hangout, from my understanding it's working on android devices too.

it would be easy to get your friends to move there.

I'm considering this but it really takes time for those things to catch up. In general I'm quite disappointed on how the things unfolded with Skype. They have never considered the Linux market and there have always been problems with the Linux versions of their client. And now as they're bought by Microsoft I don't expect the things to get any better

So I've been using Skype installed like that for quite a some time.
And so far no major issues. I'm marking this thread as closed.
