I've tried reading a number of posts on similar subjects but still not able to get my webcam working with Skype.

I've tried using these:

$ LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype
$ LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libv4l/v4l2convert.so skype

Is there anything else I can try?
